The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) is an assembly of the hierarchy of the Catholic Church in the United States and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The purpose of the Conference is to promote the greater good which the Church offers humankind.  The bishops themselves constitute the membership of the Conference and are served by a staff of approximately 315 lay people, priests, deacons, and religious, located at the Conference headquarters in Washington, DC, with branch offices in Miami, FL and Rome.

The Conference is organized as a corporation in the District of Columbia. Its purposes under civil law are: "To unify, coordinate, encourage, promote and carry on Catholic activities in the United States; to organize and conduct religious, charitable and social welfare work at home and abroad; to aid in education; to care for immigrants; and generally to enter into and promote by education, publication and direction the objects of its being."

Customer Service Specialist  (Full Time)

In response to micro-loans received electively by refugees, and in a spirit of support and accompaniment, assist assigned refugees in fulfilling loan repayment obligations through:  1) loan servicing activities designed to facilitate successful loan repayment and refugee credit development and 2) refugee education of debt obligations and personal credit development.

 

Continuing Responsibilities:  (List from highest to lowest priority.)

 

1.Service assigned loan portfolio to minimize refugee loan default, via:

a.Outreach to refugees (affiliate resettlement staff when refugee cannot be contacted) who are designated as at risk of default, and:

i.Inform – refugee of loan status in writing (text or email).

ii.Educate – refugee of the financial ramifications of default and present options going forward (in writing or voice communication)

iii.Restructure – refugee’s loan terms as appropriate.

b.Maintain refugee contact information for loans in portfolio.

c.Respond to inquiries from refugees and the USCCB’s resettlement network.

2.Conduct periodic reviews of loan portfolio with Assistant Director

3.Other duties assigned by supervisor.

4.Up to 100% remote work available.
