The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) is an assembly of the hierarchy of the Catholic Church in the United States and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The purpose of the Conference is to promote the greater good which the Church offers humankind.  The bishops themselves constitute the membership of the Conference and are served by a staff of approximately 315 lay people, priests, deacons, and religious, located at the Conference headquarters in Washington, DC, with branch offices in Miami, FL and Rome.

The Conference is organized as a corporation in the District of Columbia. Its purposes under civil law are: "To unify, coordinate, encourage, promote and carry on Catholic activities in the United States; to organize and conduct religious, charitable and social welfare work at home and abroad; to aid in education; to care for immigrants; and generally to enter into and promote by education, publication and direction the objects of its being."

Case Manager Virtual Resettlement (20 POSITIONS OPEN)  (Full Time)

*This position is fully remote but must reside in DC, MD or VA.

The Case Manager, Virtual R&P, provides virtual Reception and Placement case management support and direct assistance to refugees and SIV’s resettling with U.S. ties who will provide housing. The Case Manager, Virtual R&P works with new arrivals on a client needs assessment, conducts virtual home visits, has regular virtual client contact to provide navigation support and details all client interactions in a case management tracking system. 

 

The position must demonstrate willingness and ability to understand, respect and contribute to the USCCB mission and to fulfill job duties in accordance with its Catholic identity. This position can work remotely, but the candidate must live in Maryland, DC or Virginia.

 

•Conducts outreach to potential US Ties to assess their interest and ability to provide housing for new arrivals

•Communicates with the USCCB Processing Unit and Manager, Virtual R&P as needed to assure cases for resettlement

•Provides culturally appropriate case management support in relevant language(s)

•Works collaboratively with clients on a needs assessment that drives virtual service provision, updates throughout the service period as needs change

•Makes referrals to appropriate local resources like local school systems, benefits offices, health providers, employers, and English language classes, among others

•Assists newcomers with orienting to and navigating their new communities

•Initiates and oversees direct assistance payments to eligible arrivals

•Details all client interactions in case management tracking system in a timely manner

•Contributes to reports as requested

 

 

Level: Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling or related field, can be substituted with relevant case management work experience

Major Field/Specialty: Social work, Social Services, Counseling, Psychology

 

Number of years Required: Minimum of two years related experience required.

Foreign Language Requirement: Must speak english AND spanish or dari/pashto
