Merchandising Call Center Representative (Full Time)
Department: Customer Contact Center
PAY: $15 per hour
Full Time: M-F 7:30am-4pm

Job Description:
Check statuses on incoming purchase orders and notify customers of delayed products. Enter purchase order acknowledgments and maintain good working relationships with vendor reps and contacts. Review, research, and resolve problems with sale and purchase orders. Complete other reporting and clerical duties as assigned.
Job Responsibilities:
- Answer calls and return messages from customers checking the status of their back ordered or special ordered product
- Provide pricing information if it is unavailable on the website and set up orders for pick-up, delivery, or shipment
- Quote shipment prices. Enter and set up shipments and deliveries
- Improve product knowledge by studying product information
- Maintain vendor rep check-in file and report any problems or issues to the merchandising manager
- Provides feedback to management regarding efficiencies, safety, productivity, etc.
- Follow all operational and safety procedures

- Review and process all reports and order acknowledgments for product availability status and update the system with new arrival dates
- Resolve arrival problem issues with vendors, or Homemakers Traffic/Receiving Departments
- Proactively contact customers regarding any changes of expected arrival dates
- Understand and use the Internal Computer system to answer any general questions a customer may ask. If unable to answer customer questions, obtain the information from the correct area to relay to the customer or provide a warm transfer to the appropriate department
- Utilize good two-way communication skills
- Assist with online proofing
- Review website for all categories, including the review of all content for quality, currency, accuracy, organization, and other requirements
- Review information on website to verify it is accurate and pertinent
- Work with Merchandising Manager to improve online presentation
- Report any technical problems to the Merchandising Manager

Job Requirements:
- High School or GED
- 1-2 years of customer service or sales experience
- Working knowledge of the internet and retail websites
- Working knowledge of Excel and Word
- Product knowledge of furniture, rugs, accessories and related products.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong problem solving and reasoning skills
- Good interpersonal Skills
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Ability to plan, organize, and multi-task
- Typing skills of 35 net wpm
- Strong 10-key/data entry skills
- Proofreading Skills
- Ability to work a varied schedule, including nights, weekends and/or early morning hours based on business needs
Physical Expectations:
- Extended sitting at a desk for work on a computer
Environmental Conditions:
- Will work indoors
- Conditions may include hot/cold temperatures, dusty surroundings, and a noisy work environment
