Wine Clerk 3 - Merchandiser
Regular Part Time - Pay Rate: $17.75 - $19.75
Complete Open Availability - Weekends Required
Summary:Responsible for providing excellent customer service while performing the daily tasks of stocking and merchandising alcohol and beer as needed. Maintain aesthetically appealing displays and ensure a positive company
Essential Functions:
- Provide excellent customer service
- Fill wine, beer and spirits on a daily basis
- Keep the back room and sales floor clean and organized
- Maintain stock levels of product
- May aid in creating advertisement or signage for all sale items
- Maintain effective merchandising displays
- Request and maintain proper signs when required
- Assist vendors and merchandisers in getting product out of the back room if necessary
- Control spoilage
- Clean up all spills and breakage quickly
- Clean and face shelves as needed
- Respond to all Wine Department pages and calls quickly and professionally
- Perform all other duties assigned
- Other duties may be assigned.

Position Requirements:
Minimum of 21 years old
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent
Experience:
Minimum of one year retail customer service experience in a grocery store
Skills:
- Basic wine, beer and spirits product knowledge with desire and ability to gain extensive product knowledge
- Excellent customer service skills
- Outstanding communication skills to respond to customers questions
- Self-motivated and able to be productive and efficient without direct supervision
- Ability to organize work flow, prioritize and complete daily tasks on schedule
- Able to work a flexible schedule based on the needs of the department, including nights and weekends as required
- Proper and safe use of box cutters, industrial baler, industrial garbage compactor, hand trucks, six wheel carts, electric and manual pallet jack, ladder and stepstool
Language Skills:
- Bilingual, English/Spanish is preferred but not necessary
- Ability to read, comprehend simple instructions
Reasoning Ability:
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions
- Ability to exercise sound judgment

While performing the duty of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk
- The employee must frequently talk or hear and reach with both hands and arms above and below the shoulder
- The employee is occasionally required to sit, squat, climb, crawl or kneel
- The employee must be able to bend and twist at waist and neck.
- The employee must occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds and regularly lift up to and carry 25 pounds
- The employee must be able to tolerate repetitive reaching, handling, grasping, pushing, pulling gripping and manipulation of hands and fingers in order to face, stock and handle product as well as build displays
- The employee must be able to tolerate intermittent noise from customers and overhead speakers
- The employee must be able to work around heavy equipment and machinery such as but not limited to, forklift, balers and pallet jack
- The employee occasionally will be required to operate a heavy machinery
- The employee must be able to tolerate moderate amounts of dust and chemical fumes from common household cleaning agents
- The employee must wear non-slip shoes at all times
