Wine Assistant Manager (Full Time)

As the Wine Assistant Manager you will be responsible for supporting the Wine Manager in activities pertaining to the overall function and management of the Wine Department. You will perform tasks related to the successful function of the Department while providing outstanding customer service. You will be required to assist the Wine Manager in order writing, inventory control, receiving, proper rotation of product, maintaining health and safety standards and compliance with applicable County, State and Federal laws including OSHA, Health Department laws and standards and the Olivers Market IIPP. In addition you will be responsible for the daily direction of Department staff and display excellent leadership. This position requires a minimum of two years hands-on experience in the field of wine, beer and spirits. Must be at least 21 years of age.

- Familiarity with Ceridian Dayforce to edit the schedule when appropriate
- Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide and demonstrate a basic understanding of financial spreadsheets and profit margins

- Provide a superior customer service experience
- Provide leadership and direction to the Department staff
- Create and maintain a safe environment for employees and customers
- Assist in conducting Facilitator training for each employee as outlined in the IIPP
- Assist in the training, development and ongoing introduction of new products to staff
- Coordinate with the Wine Manager in the overall management of the Department
- Maintain strong communication between store management, corporate buyer, corporate warehouse, other wine departments, POS and graphics
- Taste and evaluate wine, spirits and beer in critical fashion; varietal and stylistic correctness, quality for price
- Write staff recommendation on your choice of product, helping customers form a better understanding of what theyre purchasing
- Merchandise department, including building displays, to meet high standards and promote continued growth of sales
- Adhere to all Safety practices outlined in the Company IIPP and monitor the safety work practices of staff
- Cut new products into sets and ensure alignment with other locations
- Order, stock and maintain appropriate levels of inventory
- Assist in managing warehouse inventory using SAGE database
- Update the back stock inventory and maintain accuracy
- Fulfill customer requests and special orders
- Control spoilage of product through proper rotation
- Maintain cleanliness standards of Department at all time
- Effectively build and maintain distributor sales representative relationships
- Facilitate collaboration with vendors to ensure products are ordered and stocked
- Complete administrative duties including log and submit purchase orders and invoices, review and submit corrections on ad proofs, complete and process intercompany transfers
- Proof newsletter and email blasts and report any adjustments to the corporate buyer, POS and graphics
- Follow and enforce applicable Federal, State and County laws with a strong focus on OSHA Safety regulations, Health Department regulations and Olivers Market IIPP
- Perform all other duties assigned by Department Manager, Department Coordinator and Store Management
