Meat Butcher  (Full Time)
Location: Ditty Ave

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Advance product knowledge

Safe food handling and storage

Safe use of sharp knives and meat saws

Able to relate cooking ideas for product to customers

Completion of a full butcher apprenticeship

Excellent communication skills

Responsibilities and qualifications:

Break product (beef, pork, lamb and poultry)

Butcher meat, poultry and fish

Perform all duties of a meat customer service clerk

Order product when requested

Inventory product

Provide excellent and quality service to customers

Package, weigh, label and price product

Properly rotate product in case

Maintain overall appearance and replenish items in case as needed

Follow established weights and measures procedures (tares)

Maintain both full and selfservice counters

Proper use of equipment

Maintain and clean equipment and work areas to maintain health and sanitation

standards

Requirements:

Must be at least 18 years of age

Able to follow instructions and procedures

Must have basic knowledge of living conditions of animals and has the ability to educate

the public on these issues

Demonstrated ability in knife handling, other cutting equipment and safety procedures

Adhere to all Oliver's and Meat Department policies

Follow and enforce all applicable State of California Health and Safety codes

Able to fulfill all physical requirements of the position (complete list upon request)

Stand, walk, reach and repetitive use of both hands

Ability to bend and twist at waist and neck

Occasionally lift/carry up to or over 85 pounds
