If so, this is an exciting opportunity for an energetic and friendly individual to join our Event Operations team as the Events Houseman. The Events Houseman is responsible for assisting and leading the Events Service team during set-up and breakdown of indoor and outdoor events held at Farmington Country Club.  

Position Responsibilities:

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of dining, banquet, and service areas; to include storage areas, with focus on proper procedures for storing operating supplies and performing frequent walk-throughs of space to ensure standards and room set-up;
• Set-up function areas per the specifications of the Banquet Event Order (BEO) and any additional special directions from management;
• Breakdown after events, ensuring the function areas are reset to their original states or are set-up for the next function;
• Assist with the inventory and care of event supplies such as linen, china, glassware, and flatware;
• Provide excellent customer service and assist Events servers during events;
• Complete duties in a timely manner and according to the standards set for the Event Operations department

• Ability to multi-task and be detail-oriented to ensure member and guests satisfaction;
• Must be able to stand, bend, and walk for extended periods of time;
• Must be able to lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to fifty (50) pounds

Club Highlights:

Farmington Country Club is a premier, full-service private club in Central Virginia.  Farmington is a member-owned club founded in 1927, and recognized as a Platinum Club of America.  Portions of the clubhouse date to 1780, and were designed by Thomas Jefferson.  The grounds of Farmington Country Club cover 275 landscaped acres and include the clubhouse, guest rooms, athletic facilities, tennis courts and golf course.

The club has two restaurants, a formal dining room and a grill restaurant, seating a total of 300; each has its own kitchen.  In addition, there are private dining rooms seating 100, 50, 40 and 12, a ballroom seating 250 and two seasonal snack bars.  Sports facilities include a 27-hole golf course, 15 outdoor and three indoor tennis courts, three paddle tennis courts, a swimming complex with diving and lap pools and a zero-depth recreation area, and a professionally staffed fitness center. Club facilities include 40 guest rooms.
