If your answer is YES, then Farmington Country Club presents an exciting opportunity for you to join our Aquatics team as a Lifeguard! The Life Guard will be responsible for supervising and maintaining the safety of our members and guests, in and around the swimming pools and pool deck areas.

What Youll Do:

• Supervise and observe swimmers at all times to ensure their safety;
• Check in members & guests for participation tracking;
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of pool area, including: swim locker rooms, lifeguard room, outdoor dining area, and pool decks;
• Vacuum pool bottoms, empty automatic skimmer, skim bugs and debris from water surface, and brush pool walls and bottoms for daily pool use;
• Keep all rescue gear organized and accessible;
• Administer first aid to swimmers minor injuries, such as small cuts and bruises;
• Maintain well-stocked First Aid cabinet; reorder supplies from Human Resources as needed;
• Ensure Life Guard pack has adequate first aid supplies prior to starting shift;
• Keep office and check-in stand in neat and orderly condition;
• Use daily checklist for opening and closing duties; submit completed form to Pool Manager at the end of the shift;
• Assist with aquatic programming;
• Maintain all necessary records as determined by the Pool Manager;
• Attend regular meetings as directed by the Pool Manager

Qualifications:

• Certification in American Red Cross or equivalent Lifeguard Training or higher;
• Certification in American Red Cross or equivalent CPR for the Professional Rescuer;
• Certification in American Red Cross or equivalent AED Training;
• Professional communication skills, a high level of organizational skills, and strong attention to detail

Farmington Country Club is a premier, full-service private club in Central Virginia. Farmington is a member-owned club founded in 1927, and recognized as a Platinum Club of America. Portions of the clubhouse date to 1780, and were designed by Thomas Jefferson. The grounds of Farmington Country Club cover 275 landscaped acres and include the clubhouse, guest rooms, athletic facilities, tennis courts and golf course.

The club has two restaurants, a formal dining room and a grill restaurant, seating a total of 300; each has its own kitchen. In addition, there are private dining rooms seating 100, 50, 40 and 12, a ballroom seating 250 and two seasonal snack bars. Sports facilities include a 27-hole golf course, 15 outdoor and three indoor tennis courts, three paddle tennis courts, a swimming complex with diving and lap pools and a zero-depth recreation area, and a professionally staffed fitness center.
