Assistant Grounds Manager  (Full Time)

Farmington Country Club is looking for an experienced Grounds Maintenance professional to join our staff. This full-time position is responsible for managing the daily maintenance of the Club grounds and special areas on the Golf Course, including: training and supervising staff; turf and ornamental installation and maintenance; parking lot and grounds cleanup; care and safe operation of both hand tools and power equipment; and maintaining the Grounds shop area to ensure that it is organized, clean and safe at all times. This position has a strong emphasis on turf and irrigation system maintenance.

Candidate Qualifications

College degree in Horticulture, Agronomy, or a related field, or equivalent technical training

Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in Grounds Maintenance or related field

Virginia Commercial Not for Hire Pesticide License categories: 3 A, 3 B, and 6

Certified Fertilizer Applicator license

Ability to understand and follow safety rules, instructions for equipment maintenance and operation, job assignments and work lists, and MSDS fact sheets

Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Strong work ethic, professional appearance and demeanor

Ability to accomplish tasks independently and as part of a team

Ability to stand, stoop, kneel, walk long distances, and lift and carry up to 50 pounds
