Construction Superintendent (Full Time)

Job Summary
Under the general direction of the Construction Manager and Architect, the Construction Superintendent works collaboratively with the design, construction, development, and project team on a variety of custom designed commercial and residential projects in the Los Angeles area. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, highly organized, personable, and can communicate clearly and effectively with the ability to think from the design sidein addition to the construction side. The Construction Superintendent is part of our construction team responsible for the successful completion of construction projects for Raleigh Enterprises and its affiliated entities. They will be tasked with the daily onsite supervision of subcontractors along with some staff and temps with the goal tokeep construction jobs on schedule, on budget and per the approved construction documents, and will report to the construction team with daily reports, progress photos, and RFI’s from the subcontractors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage job site safety, quality, and schedule for assigned projects from pre-construction to completion and closeout
- Work collaboratively with the Project Manager, project team members, subcontractors and labor crew.
- Ensure standards of quality and safety are adhered to by the project team and subcontractors by performing daily job site walks and submit safety audit reports when required.
- Conduct and attend Foreman meetings, pre-task meetings, safety meetings, and project staff meetings.
- Assist with creating and enforcing a site-specific emergency action plan for assigned projects in collaboration with the Project Manager.
- Participate in the review of all project documents for constructability and content, including shop drawings.

- Ability to read architectural, structural, civil, shop drawings, etc. and communicate clear and concise questions to Construction Manager and Architect.

- Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness, while focusing on attention to details, maintaining a sense of urgency.

Supervisory Responsibilities
- In coordination with the Construction and Project Manager, the Construction Superintendent supervises a combination of up to an average of thirty (30) subcontractors, regular staff, and temporary/agency staff
- Responsibilities include training and coaching; planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving issues; ensure that safety program and guidelines are implemented, and compliance is continuous.
Essential Skills, Experience, and Education include:
- A minimum of 10 years of experience as a Project Superintendent, or equivalent role, in the construction industry or equivalent combination of education (training/certifications) and experience is preferred.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret architectural and engineering drawings, plans, documents, material specifications, financial reports, and legal documents (e.g., contracts).
Computer Skills:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
- Project Management Software – Procore is a plus.
- Scheduling Software - FastTrack is a plus.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
- First Aid/CPR certification is a plus.
- Valid California Driver’s License (Class C) and insurance.
- Must provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
- Must pass a drug test and background check.
Physical Requirements include:
Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally move/lift up to 100 pounds.
Salary Range:$ 90,000 - $110,000
