LEED AP Project Manager (Full Time)
Location: New York, NY 10018
The company is looking for a project manager with an experience of certifying various projects in commercial buildings through different green building, LEED rating systems.
An undergraduate four-year degree in engineering, environmental design, construction management, architecture, or other related fields is required; and 1+ years of full-time professional experience is preferred. An additional graduate degree(s) in a building related field is useful.
Responsibilities:
Provide sustainable construction consulting and coordination expertise on various projects.
Manage a project in its entirety for various certifications, including project scheduling, running team meetings, project documentation, and responding to team requests for information.
Meeting with clients and discussing coordination efforts and providing assistance on all aspects of sustainable design including sustainable sites, water efficiency, energy efficiency, material resources, and indoor environmental quality.
Perform testing and verification activities required under the LEED rating systems.
Provide assistance, research and report writing skills to a variety of sustainable design projects.
Maintain a high level of organization, sustainable design consulting services, and cutting edge sustainable building strategies.
Reviewing architectural, mechanical and electrical plans and specifications, and project submittals.
Reviewing certification documentation for various rating systems.
Reviewing general submittal documentation for USGBC as a LEED AP.
Traveling to various projects, as required.
Requirements:
Strong project management and time management skills.
Strong technical background in building sciences and sustainable design.
Field experience including testing and verification for commercial certification programs.
Excellent communication skills -- oral, written, and presentation.
Excellent interpersonal relationship skills.
Working knowledge of and experience with the building delivery process.
Understanding of different green building rating systems and their impact on the design and construction process.
LEED AP accreditation.
A candidate for this position might have the following skills / background:
1+ years of experience in a building related field, preferably in sustainable design.
Successful participation and/or leadership role in a project(s) that has been awarded a formal green building certification.
Understanding of mechanical system design and sizing and related software reports.
Understanding of renewable energy technologies and sustainable design as applied to residential and commercial construction.
Established relationships with numerous building professionals.
