Starting Pay: $16.00
Summary: Under general supervision, maintain grounds and participate in ground construction activities. Working conditions include dirty environment, extreme temperatures, lifting or carrying heavy objects.
Duties and Responsibilities: Specific areas of responsibility included, but not limited to:
- Plant shrubs, trees and flowers; prune trees and shrubs.
- Remove debris from stairs and walks, rake leaves and mow lawns.
- Water trees, shrubs and lawns and perform irrigation activities.
- Spray for weeds and insects using unrestricted chemicals as required.
- Operate power lawn mowers, edgers, hand tools and other equipment associated with landscaping activities.
- Perform minor maintenance and repair on equipment and tools as required.
- Assist in the maintenance of parking lots and other surfaces including asphalt repairs and minor masonry or plastering work as required.
- Install and remove outdoor signs, parking and traffic control barriers and overhead banners as required.
- Perform clean up activities during and after special events.eep outside area free from all litter & debris.
- Empty trash containers (outside) as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Knowledge of equipment, tools and procedures of grounds construction and care
- Knowledge of fertilizers, insecticides and herbicides used in grounds care and gardening
- Skill in operating grounds maintenance and grounds construction equipment
- Must be able to bend, kneel, and walk 100% of the time
- One (1) year of landscaping experience or any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved
- Have employment eligibility in the U.S
- Able to obtain applicable department licensing.
- Ability to work all shifts, weekends, holidays, special events, promotions, with various hours.
- This position occasionally, and for extended periods of time, requires "On Call" status which dictates various working hours occurring anytime within the 24/7 hours of operation of the business
- Ability to lift 50 lbs., bend, kneel, stoop, and climb ladders.
- Must attend State, Federal, Tribal, Casino, and Department mandatory trainings and pass any applicable testing.
- Ensures standards are maintained on all work performed.
- Able to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally with Team Members, Casino Guests, and vendors
- Team Members whose work requires operation of a motor vehicle must maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record which is acceptable to our insurer.
