Starting Rate of Pay: $13.50

Summary: Under supervision from the Lead Floor Crew and/or Supervisor, clean, sweep, mop, strip, wax, coat, seal, buff and burnish applicable types of flooring. Clean, vacuum, spot clean, and extract all types of commercial carpeting; other custodial duties as required.

Duties and Responsibilities: Specific areas of responsibility included, but not limited to:

  • Apply all safety standards, clean, mop, strip, coat, seal, buff and burnish all applicable types of hard flooring.
  • Maintain finishes on flooring by applying proper techniques when sweeping and mopping.
  • Vacuum carpeting.
  • Spot clean carpeting using proper chemicals and procedures to ensure longevity of carpet.
  • Extract carpet utilizing small hand held units as well as walk-behind units.
  • Vacuum, spot clean, and/or shampoo rugs, carpets, and furniture.
  • Participate in all types of custodial cleaning activities as needed.
  • Provides courteous service and is cordial to all Team Members and Guests.
  • Move furniture, equipment or fixtures, as required.
  • Clean and maintain all types of flooring: carpet, tile, imitations, etc.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Knowledge of floor cleaning/maintenance equipment i.e. bonnet buffer, hand extractor, walk-behind extractor, truck mount, burnisher, floor blowers, floor scrubber, dry carpet machine, etc. and possess the skill and ability to use them.
  • Knowledge and skill in the techniques and processes used to treat and maintain all types of commercial flooring.
  • Knowledge in the proper use and identification of chemicals and applications used in the maintenance and care of all types of commercial flooring.
  • Must be able to read and understand English in order to ensure all chemical handling is conducted in compliance with OSHA standards.
  • Must be able to identify and correct unsafe practices and conditions.
  • Ability to safely use all cleaning and floor care equipment.
  • Ability to bend from the waist, stoop, kneel and crouch.
  • One (1) year of general custodial experience in a commercial building with experience in floor care and maintenance or any equivalent combination of experience and /or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
  • Team Members whose work require operation of a motor vehicle must maintain a valid drivers license and a driving record which is acceptable to our insurer.
  • Able to obtain an applicable department license.
  • Must be able to work all shifts including weekends, special events, holidays and overtime.
  • This position occasionally, and for extended periods of time, requires On Call status which dictates various working hours occurring anytime within the 24/7 hours of operation of the business.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds, bend, kneel, stoop, and climb ladders.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing with Team Members, Casino Guests and vendors.
  • Ensures standards are maintained on work performed.
  • Must attend State, Federal, Tribal, Casino, and Department mandatory training's and pass any applicable testing.
