Summary: (Dealer) Deal Poker in accordance with Casino and departmental procedures. Control players and game action keeping focused on Guest service, accuracy and speed.

(Supervisor) Responsible for maintaining an effective and efficient Poker room and ensure games are operated in accordance with the established rules and regulations.

Duties and Responsibilities: Specific areas of responsibility included, but not limited to:

While Supervising

  • Adhere to all Casino and departmental policies and procedures including all regulatory requirements.
  • Provide leadership to dealers.
  • Make impartial decisions involving Guests and Team Members.
  • Responsible for maintaining types of games being played, including correcting discrepancies in Guest or Dealer conduct.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Poker and appropriate guidelines for Table Games.
  • Relay pertinent information to incoming supervisor staff.
  • Make recommendations on new hires, terminations, evaluations, and counseling of dealers.
  • Responsible for correcting and coaching dealers who have violated company or departmental standards.
  • Continually act as a representative of Cliff Castle Casino and encourage others through demonstration of appropriate behavior.
  • Maintain a comfortable atmosphere in the Poker area.
  • Keep an open communication between other departments.
  • Maintain proper documentation on all transactions.
  • Demonstrate reliability and flexibility in work schedule.
  • Keep the Director of Gaming Operations informed of any irregularities including dissatisfied Guests or Team Member disputes.
  • Train new dealers to comply with departmental procedures.
  • Responsible for accuracy of cash and chip transactions.
  • Ensure adequate play at each table by making assignments when necessary.
  • Ensure that supervision is provided at all times while the room is in operation.
  • Maintain the Poker impressed bank and is responsible for any variances.
  • Resolve Guest and Team Member disputes.
  • Tactfully handles stressful and difficult situations with Guests and other Team Members.
  • Distribute comps to qualified Guests.
  • Maintain work schedule for Poker Dealers.
  • This position ensures all support duties and responsibilities are carried out in an efficient and timely manner and that immediate action is taken on any situation that might be illegal or extraordinary.
  • Perform Poker Dealer duties, as needed based on staffing levels.
  • Attend all meetings and training as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

While Dealing

  • Meet department and Casino attendance expectations including, but not limited to, clocking in/out, reporting to work on time, and working various assigned shifts demonstrating flexibility and reliability.
  • Adhere to all Casino and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Report to work in complete uniform and with good personal hygiene.
  • Report any pertinent game information to the incoming dealer.
  • Control players and game pace.
  • Call supervisor for any game irregularities, questions, or decisions.
  • Regularly interact with all Poker Team Members as necessary.
  • Communicate tactfully with Guests to maintain a friendly, fun atmosphere.
  • Tactfully handle stressful and difficult situations with Guests and other Team Members.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Poker and appropriate guidelines for Table Games.
  • Consistently comply with Casino, department and all regulatory requirements.
  • Execute marketing promotions and be involved in department special events.
  • Accurately collect the rake for the house.
  • Attend all meetings and training as required.
  • Follow all practical and common Poker protocol.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Minimum of six (6) months Poker dealing experience.
  • Previous Casino supervisory experience preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of Poker policies and procedures.
  • Possess sound, mature judgment.
  • Possess organizational and planning skills.
  • Ability to pass a math test.
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
  • Ability to read and speak English.
  • Must have professional appearance.
  • Must be dexterous and have good hand coordination.
  • Must be able to work in a smoking environment.
  • Must be able to pass a live audition.
  • Must be able to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Must have employment eligibility in the U.S.
  • Must be able to work all shifts including weekends, holidays, evenings and special events.
  • Must attend State, Federal, Tribal, Casino, and Department mandatory trainings and pass any applicable testing.
  • Able to obtain valid gaming license.
