Senior Software Engineer (Full Time)
Location: Maryland
Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer the Senior Software Engineer will implement, test, and maintain new intelligent traffic safety enforcement products and services. The Senior Software Engineer will also be responsible for replacing well-documented LabView code with operationally equivalent Python implementation, refinement of our automated control systems, testing and integration of existing software into our current traffic safety enforcement technologies.
The candidate must be able to interact with both the development and operations teams as part of their daily tasks. The ideal candidate will be comfortable in a high performance, dynamic environment capable of prioritizing and completing tasks, with minimal supervision and a strong sense of accountability.
Requirements:
BS in EE, CE, or related field (relevant work experience can be substituted for degree)
7+ years of experience with Python or similar scripting language with strong commitment to learn Python
7+ years of experience with developing stand-alone projects, simple GUIs, and integration of compound systems
3+ years of experience in programmatic database query
3+ year of experience with secure server-client communication
3+ year of experience with multithreading and multiprocessing
Demonstrated skills in all phases of software development: design, implementation, testing, and documentation
Experience in test data management and analysis
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Nice-to-haves:
Experience with Numpy, Pandas, Multiprocessing, OpenCV, Matplotlib
Exposure to LabView
Experience with training/mentoring
Experience with electronics lab equipment: oscilloscopes, signal generators, and other test equipment
