Senior System Administrator  (Full Time)
Location: Maryland

Optotraffic is seeking a Senior System Administrator to support day-to-day activities in the management of server infrastructure and optimize data-center operations across multiple platforms (Solaris 11, Ubuntu Linux, CentOS 6/7, and Microsoft Windows 2008/2012R2).

Requirements:

Day-to-day fluency using Microsoft Active Directory to manage users, policies, and objects; roaming profiles, domain name services, as well as domain file services replication.

Comfortable with the management of virtualization architecture based on ESXI VMWare and Xen-Hypervisor and the use of Network file server services hosted on multiple platforms, all interacting with one another.

Ability to effectively plan, install, configure and optimize IT infrastructure to consistently achieve high availability and performance through the identification and remediation of existing risk factors associated with data availability, backup, and recovery on ZFS based pool systems scalable up to 300TB+ capacity.

Have experience administering various systems and applications in a highly controlled environment including system hardening and security accreditation (PCI, NIST, HIPPA, etc.)

Experience working as a system administrator using and configuring LAMP based systems requiring high availability, managing public key infrastructure/SSL certificates, with a working knowledge of relational databases such as MySQL as they relate with other applications.

Experience with FIPS compliant managed network switch and firewall (Cisco ASA) configuration, setup, troubleshooting, and problem solving in relation to TCP/IP/VPN and ISP network issues.

Perform regular site support services in relation to routine and emergency server maintenance through the application of patches and security updates.

Ability to document, update, and maintain all processes and procedures relating to the responsibilities and organizational requirements.

Ability to analyze and resolve complex enterprise system hardware and software problems; Interfaced with software development and also interact with network support personnel and vendors for solutions.
