DESCRIPTION: The San Antonio River Authority seeks to hire an Urban Stormwater Planner with a passion for the health of the river, its tributaries, and the larger basin. Strong skills in urban planning and placemaking; stormwater master planning; sustainable stormwater best management practices (BMP) design, including Low Impact Development (LID); and LID BMP plan set development and review are musts. Our Type:

Our team is passionate about understanding, documenting, reducing, and educating others about the negative impacts of development on the Basin and cost-effective ways to mitigate them. Given the small size of our Stormwater Team, it is important that we work together to accomplish this feat. We seek to recruit an Urban Stormwater Planner who has used and will continue to use experience in urban planning, landscape architecture, environmental sciences, or related fields to make a difference in their communityand who wants to contribute to the success of our team.

Our team members participate in a wide variety of activities and functions, including but not limited to, maintaining the Basins most comprehensive map of LID features, managing a LID rebate and school grant project, managing the Citys portfolio of Edwards Aquifer water quality projects, monitoring LID features to document stormwwater quality improvements, managing the SARA/Bexar County LID training program, and advocating for greater stormwater management through community partnerships. This results in an opportunity to work with experts from a number of SARA departments as well as with multiple stakeholders and design professionals external to SARA on solutions that improve surface water quality throughout our Basin.

COMPENSATION: Salary range is $61,313.89 (DOE) plus outstanding fringe benefits which includes excellent health/vision/dental insurance packages, continuing education benefits, 401a/457b retirement program, 12 vacations days per year, 11 paid holidays per year, etc.
