DESCRIPTION

Under limited supervision, performs a variety of general maintenance duties. Repairs and maintains through general and preventative maintenance, company buildings, grounds, and equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintains lighting, plumbing fixtures, piping and clogged drains throughout the facility and grounds

Perform minor building maintenance, including semi-skilled corrective and preventative maintenance

Notify department managers of any problems or changes in equipment operation as the result of periodic checks as listed above

Inspects, tests, cleans and may repair fire equipment, alarms, switches and sensors

Notify facilities manager of any problems or changes in equipment operation as the result of periodic checks as listed above

Perform other duties as assigned

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

Knowledge of the uses of the more common hand tools such as wrenches and drills, etc.

Some electrical maintenance, construction, and building maintenance experience

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and one (1) year experience in maintenance in a manufacturing setting. Must have a valid drivers license.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is performed within various environments, subject to temperature variations, hazardous chemicals, mechanical parts, increased noise levels and dust.

Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds frequently and on occasion up to 100 pounds.

May be required to perform specific tasks that involve climbing, lifting, pushing or kneeling.

Must be able to pass a pre-employment testing (physical, drug, alcohol).
