Pre-Sales Engineer - Cayman

Cable & Wireless (Cayman Islands) Ltd. is accepting applications for the position of Pre Sales Engineer to supports all Cable and Wireless Business (CWB) sales engagements by securing the technical closure of more complex enterprise class solutions and managed services. The incumbent will understand the need to collaborate with sales, service management, product management, engineering, and technical support resources and will be responsible for ensuring that proposed solutions include product and services that accurately address customer needs and are appropriately supported by key customer technical decision makers.
Essential job functions
- Works on opportunities with the CWB sales team, prioritizing effort based on maximizing total impact on team productivity and profit, or as directed by the Head of Presales.
- Proactively scopes the technical solution required to address customer requirements, assess customer needs, and recommends solutions that optimize value for both the customer and Cable and Wireless.
- Secures input from all key solution stakeholders both internal and external. Adapts solutions as necessary to suit the customers requirements, while ensuring appropriate levels of support from internal teams.
- Coordinates closely with internal sales, sales support, product development, and service resources to align solution design with customers business requirements.
- Secures commitment from customers key technical stakeholders, by removing all technical objections to CWB solutions, to ensure an opportunities technical closure.
- Meets assigned targets for profitable sales growth through the achievement of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in assigned product lines, market areas, channels or other CWB teams being supported.
- Provides training to the CWB sales team members in order to enhance their product knowledge, technical acumen and technical sales skills.
- Selectively pursue additional business development opportunities in the marketplace. Collaborates with sales to ensure these opportunities are effectively covered and advanced.
- Monitors customer support for technical solutions proposed throughout the sales-cycle and alerts the sales and account teams to potential risks to deal closure.
The successful applicant should have
- Bachelor of Science in Computing or closely related field from an accredited institution
- Minimum of 10 years technical sales or sales engineering experience in a business to business or large/strategic customer segment
- A record of achievement and technical solution expertise
- Product certifications, engineering credentials, or equivalent technical credentials such as Citrix, Juniper, VMWare, CCNA, Cloud Platforms
- Standard PC application proficiency
