Rummel, Klepper & Kahl, LLP (RK&K) is experiencing significant positive growth and expanding our Cultural Resource Management group. RK&K is seeking qualified candidates for an Archaeological Principal Investigator to support numerous on-going and upcoming projects in the Mid-Atlantic region. This is a full-time permanent position located in RK&Ks Baltimore headquarters with other Mid-Atlantic location assignments a possibility. Candidate must have experience in the Mid-Atlantic region; should possess, at a minimum, a Masters Degree in Archaeology, Anthropology or a closely related field; and have at least five years supervisory experience managing all aspects of archaeological investigations. A Doctoral Degree in Archaeology, Anthropology or a closely related field and/or a Registered Professional Archaeologist (RPA) certification is preferred but not required.
Minimum Requirements:
Masters Degree in Archaeology, Anthropology or a closely related field and at least five (5) years of supervisory experience
Experience directing all phases of archaeological studies
Experience directing field crews, managing projects and project budgets, and authoring technical reports
Ability to accurately identify prehistoric and historic material culture from the Mid-Atlantic region.
Understanding of federal, state, and local cultural resource regulations
Develop cultural resource eligibility recommendations, assess project effects on cultural resources, and provide high level support to address complex resource problems and issues that require specialized technical or regulatory knowledge.
NEPA experience is desirable
Clean driving record and able to pass background check

Good organizational skills, strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
Strong technical writing and oral communication skills
Self-motivated and have the ability work and participate as part of a team
Proficiency with the Microsoft Suite including Access
Proficiency with GPS units and Total Station
Experience with ArcGIS 10 is desirable
