WHAT IS YOUTHBUILD - OIC? 

YouthBuild is a community-based pre-apprenticeship program that provides job training and educational opportunities for at-risk youth ages 16-24 who have left high school before graduating. Youth learn vocational skills in construction, as well as in other in-demand industries, such as manufacturing and welding. Youth also provide community service through the required construction or rehabilitation of affordable housing for low-income or homeless families in their own neighborhoods.

We are currently recruiting, and we are scheduled to start in June. 

WHERE IS YOUTHBUILD/OIC LOCATED?

YouthBuild program is located at OIC of Washington, 815 Fruitvale Blvd, Yakima, WA.

 

WHO QUALIFIES FOR YOUTHBUILD/OIC?

 

To qualify for YouthBuild/OIC you must meet certain criteria. You can only be in YouthBuild if you are between the ages of 16-24, officially dropped out of school, AND one of these 6 eligibility requirements:

 

 

HOW DO YOU GET INTO YOUTHBUILD/OIC?

***UPLOADING A RESUME IS NOT REQUIRED***

YouthBuild is not a program you can just “automatically join”. You must go through a selection process called “Mental Toughness”. Mental Toughness is usually about one week of activities where you can demonstrate your ability to be part of a successful team, communicate, follow directions, problem solve and commit to do your best. After Mental Toughness, the YouthBuild team will INVITE only those who are ready for success.
