Claims Manager - Workers' Compensation  (Full Time)

Beacon Mutual Insurance is seeking an experienced workers compensation professional to lead a team of claims adjusters and support staff. The Successful Candidate

In addition to workers compensation claims knowledge and experience with the laws and regulations surrounding workers compensation, you will need excellent communication and team building skills to lead and mentor a staff; critical thinking skills to make decisions based on claim related issues; relationship building skills to collaborate and build trust and professional relationships with senior managers, staff, and customers; and the leadership ability and drive to keep moving toward continuous improvement.

Qualifications

RI Adjusters License or willingness to obtain one within three months.

Bachelors degree and five years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Demonstrated advanced knowledge of workers compensation claims handling procedures, including coverage verification, compensability, investigation, timely and adequate reserving, settlement evaluation and processing, and litigation management. Knowledge of Medicare set aside processing. Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures with particular knowledge on orthopedic injuries.

Strong analytical skills to identify trends, report on metrics, and analyze risks. Demonstrated ability to coach and develop staff.

Sound judgement to evaluate and consider all alternatives and recommend appropriate course of action.

Communication skills, both written and verbal, in order to foster an environment of collaboration, respect and accountability.

Knowledge of the legal process related to workers compensation claims

Knowledge of fee schedule guidelines and treatment protocols.
