Residential Officer  (Full Time)

Position Title:  Residential Officer - 40 hours per week 

Work Location: Lary A. Nelson Center 1001 29th AVE SW Cedar Rapids IA 52404

Shift: 3pm-11pm Wednesday through Sunday

Salary Range:   $20.79 - $30.81 per hour

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:  A direct service provider in a 24 hour community based corrections facility, which includes high contact interactions with residents which may be during emergent and demanding situations.  Elicits and supports pro-social behaviors with the focus on programming to reduce recidivism and preparing residents for successful community reentry.  The work requires the use of independent judgment, initiative, teamwork, communication, balanced approach of treatment and supervision, and developing quality relationships with clients.

EDUCATION:  Minimum qualifications will require a high school diploma or equivalent and two years of human services or criminal justice experience OR two years of college OR any equivalent combination of college and human services or criminal justice experience to equal two years.
