Position Title: Probation/Parole Officer II (Supervised by Ron Erwin)

Work Location:Stratton Center, 2501 Holiday Road, Coralville, IA

Status: Permanent, full-time

Salary Range: $1,940.00 - $2,941.60 biweekly

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

Supervision of individuals court ordered to probation, released to parole, work release or Interstate Compact cases. Caseload will include both residential and field service cases. Responsibilities include assessment of risk and incorporating assessments into case management practices.Employee is responsible for collaborating with offender support systems and treatment providers to establish a framework of supportive services and development of protective factors. Employee initiates and receives case transfer through Interstate compact Offender Tracking System (ICOTS).Employee will facilitate weekly educational/cognitive-based classes with fidelity, including preparation and familiarity with classroom material.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum qualifications requires graduation from a 4 year accredited college or university; OR two years of college (minimum of60 hours) and two years human services/criminal justice experience; OR an equivalent combination of related education and/or human service/criminal justice experience to equal four years.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Valid driver's license and ability to be insured on the district's auto policy.

Aflexible work schedule to include early morning, evening and weekend hours.

Bi-lingual (Spanish speaking) preferred.
