Environmental Scientist/Engineer Project Manager
: Minnesota: Saint Paul, MN
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in geology, chemistry, environmental science or engineering, chemical/civil engineering, industrial hygiene or related field with 8 or more years related experience, or;
- Advanced degree in geology, chemistry, environmental science or engineering, chemical/civil engineering, industrial hygiene or related field with 6 years’ related experience.
- Certified Asbestos Inspector Licensed in Minnesota and/or Wisconsin
- 40 hour OSHA HAZWOPPER training.
Responsibilities:
- Manage projects from initial authorization to completion including client interaction, work scheduling, establishing and monitoring project budget, invoicing, and quality control.
- Prepare proposals and assist in marketing AET services.
- Conduct environmental surveys of asbestos and hazardous materials in structures.
- Conduct environmental evaluations including: Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments, and develop and implement corrective action design alternatives.
- Design or supervise the collection of media samples for monitoring programs or for data collection.
- Prepare technical reports of environmental evaluations including appropriate recommendations.
Other Qualifications or Abilities Desired
- PE or PG
- Certified Hazardous Material Manager (CHMM)
- Asbestos Planner, Designer, Management, or Supervisor Certifications.
- Physical ability to wear a respirator, successfully complete OSHA required 40 hour training
- Occasionally lift/carry up to 40 pounds.
- Develop and implement solutions to a wide range of environmental problems.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Work at environmental remediation, industrial, and construction sites.
- Perform field work including, but not limited to: collecting samples; operating field instruments; following procedures, planning, organizing and arranging logistics for the job; and documenting field activities and data collected.
- Awareness and attention to safety.
- Properly use and maintain company instruments and equipment.
- Personal vehicle available for company business.
- Out of town travel.
