Community Health Center Network Provider Services Summer Intern

WHO WE ARE:

The Community Health Center Network (CHCN), sister organization to the Alameda Health Consortium, is made up of the eight federally qualified community health centers in Alameda County. CHCN functions as the managed care MSO for our health centers, contracting with the Alameda Alliance for Health and Anthem Blue Cross. In order to help our health centers meet their missions of providing the best possible care to their communities, we also provide a board range of training, technical assistance, quality improvement, information technology, and data analytic services.

THE POSITION:

The Provider Services Intern will assist the department with projects focused on evaluating and providing recommendations to improve the current CHCN provider web-portal and Provider Services Dashboard. The Provider Services Intern will be responsible for assessing, evaluating, and providing recommendations to the department on the technological platforms with the purpose of supporting the department with improving provider data maintenance and management. Additionally, the Provider Services Intern will assist the Provider Services Department with current network adequacy projects including conducting research on current specialty network needs, creating surveys, interviewing clinic teams, and providing an assessment summary to the department. The Provider Services Intern will collaborate with the Provider Services Department team members to effectively improve our current specialty network and partnership opportunities.

Projects may include:

Researching current MSO/provider web portal platforms, evaluating current department processes, date needs, and conducting assessments.

Providing recommendations for improvements to the current CHCN provider web portal platform.

Interview Provider Services Department staff to understand the needs for a potential Provider Services Dashboard

Assess current Provider Services Tableau reports and provide recommendations for a Provider Services Dashboard.

Conducting a needs assessment and gap analysis, including interviewing clinic referral coordinators to understand the specialty network needs.

Collaborate with department staff to create satisfaction surveys for clinics and network providers.

Applying evaluation findings and researching network best-practices enhance the current specialty network gaps.

Contributing to innovative solutions that have not yet been identified!

Responsibilities may include:

Collecting qualitative and quantitative data through surveys, focus groups, and other metrics.

Summarizing findings into written reports and presentations for the Provider Services Department and CHCN leadership

Project management planning, execution, and evaluation

Job shadowing in other functional areas, including frequent collaboration with current Community Health Center Network Health Centers.

Performing additional duties as required

Desired skillset:

Experience with working to collect, manage, and analyze data.

Experience with web platforms and current web technologies

Plan and design surveys and determine appropriate survey methods.

Qualitative and quantitative research methods

Strong written and verbal skills with ability to communicate across diverse audiences (staff, providers, leadership)

Ability to effectively prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

Ability to effectively summarize and present research findings to leadership and stakeholders.

An interest in working with underserved and/or marginalized populations.

Compensation:
