This is a rare leadership opportunity at one of Milwaukees fastest growing not-for-profits. Our Director of Development coordinates all fundraising efforts to support Horizon Home Care & Hospice, Inc. and the Horizon Grief Resource Center.

An effective Director of Development will bring Horizon to the next level. This is your chance to make an indelible impacton thelives of many people during challenging times. The work you and your team perform ensures that homebound clients get a meal every day, Milwaukees working poor receive affordable health care, and grieving individuals find support at our one-of-a-kind Grief Resource Center. Youre joining a close-knit family of the best professionals in thenot-for-profit industry who believe in what they do and always have each others backs.

Some of the key responsibilities include:

Manage our current donor portfolio while researching, identifying, attracting, and cultivating new major donors for our causes.

Plan and execute Horizons annual fundraising events, including obtaining corporate sponsorships.

Supervise Horizons Manager of Volunteer Services and assume accountability for the success of our volunteer programs.

Implement effective networking and media strategies to enhance Horizons visibility in the community. Educate appropriate contacts about the services Horizon provides.

Collaborate with the CEO to secure new business opportunities.

To fit in at our Agency, one must be organized, eminently likable, and genuinely interested in helping others. In addition, our ideal Director of Development should be well-connected andwildly creative, with a work ethic second to none. He/she will need to embrace the daunting task of growing our programs and producing results. Rise to the challenge of establishing and nailing ambitious benchmark goals. Minimum qualifications include a Bachelors Degree in a relevant field and 3-5 years of proven fundraising and event management experience. Must be computer proficient and a master communicator.
