Human Resources Supervisor

The HR Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the administration of employee benefits, leave of absence programs, and workers’ compensation, while providing direct supervision and strategic guidance to the Employee Engagement Coordinator. This role ensures regulatory compliance, operational consistency, and a positive employee experience across the employment lifecycle. The HR Supervisor serves as a subject matter expert, escalation point, and people leader within the Human Resources team.
Primary responsibilities:
- Provide oversight and quality control for the administration of all employee benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, retirement, and wellness programs.
- Serve as an escalation resource for complex benefits issues, employee concerns, and carrier‑related challenges.
- Ensure accurate processing of enrollments, changes, terminations, and COBRA events in compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Partner with Horizon leadership on benefits strategy, open enrollment planning, employee communications, and vendor management.
- Oversee and ensure compliant administration of all leave programs, including FMLA, ADA accommodations, personal leaves, military leave, and other statutory or company‑sponsored leaves.
- Review and approve leave determinations, extensions, and return‑to‑work processes.
- Ensure proper documentation, tracking, and coordination with payroll, managers, and third‑party administrators as applicable.
- Act as a resource to leaders and employees regarding leave rights, responsibilities, and timelines.
- Oversee workers’ compensation claims administration, ensuring timely reporting, investigation, and follow‑up.
- Coordinate with insurance carriers, managers, and employees to facilitate return‑to‑work and modified duty as appropriate.
- Provide direct supervision, coaching, and performance management for the Employee Engagement Coordinator.
- Guide the planning and execution of engagement initiatives, recognition programs, wellness activities, and culture‑building efforts
This role also involves championing company values, organizing engagement initiatives, and serving as a liaison between employees and leadership to ensure a collaborative and motivated work environment. Primary responsibilities:
