Nursing Assistant/CNA/CMA  (Full Time)
Location: Olathe, KS

The nursing assistant will provide support to the nursing team with a variety of patient care activities and related services necessary in caring for the personal needs, comfort and safety of our patients.The nursing assistant will work under the direct supervision of the registered nurse or licensed practical nurse while completing tasks that have been specifically delegated.Responsibilities will include administering medications to patients or performing other specialized tasks, depending on your level of training, experience, and state regulations.

Responsibilities for Nursing Assistant include but are not limited to:

Treat all patients, family, visitors and staff with respect, and always engage with them in a tactful manner

Comply with all safety and health regulations

Record vital signs, such as temperature, blood pressure, pulse, or respiration rate, as directed by medical or nursing staff.

Transport specimens, laboratory items, or pharmacy items, ensuring proper documentation and delivery to authorized personnel.

Collect specimens, such as urine

Stock or issue medical supplies

Document or otherwise report observations of patient behavior, complaints, or physical symptoms to nurses.

Administer medications while following the five rights of medication administration at all times, and complete accurate documentation of medication administration as delegated under the supervision of the registered nurse or licensed practical nurse.

Qualifications for Nursing Assistant

Must successfully complete CNA/CMA course within 6 months of hire

Prior work experience in a direct patient care setting, minimum of 6 months experience/employment at KidsTLC

Must be in good physical health, and to be able to walk or stand for long periods of time

Must be compassionate, personable and professional

Strong attention to detail

Understanding of PACE

Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize assignments

Ability to handle emotional and stressful situations in a professional manner while remaining calm

Plans to pursue an education in the nursing or medical service field preferred.
