Safety & Security Specialist  (Full Time)

PURPOSE OFTHE SAFETY & SECURITY SPECIALIST

The Safety & Security Specialist is responsible for monitoring and providing safety and security of the Phoenix Residential Treatment Facility (PRTF). This includes monitoring all units for safety needs and responding to Care Facilitator calls for assistance. See the following paragraph for information on the duties and responsibilities of the Care Facilitator. Safety & Security Specialist will be acting as a liaison in verbal and communication requirements within PRTF.

PURPOSE OFTHE CARE FACILITATOR

The Care Facilitator is responsible for the coordination and care of the Phoenix Residential Treatment Facility (PRTF) clients to ensure daily physical and emotional needs of the youth (ages 6-18) are fulfilled. This includes following established plans and activities, as well as creating activities to ensure effective education and developmental opportunities.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent

College credit hours in social work, psychology, or a related mental health field from an accredited college, preferred.

Must be at least 21 years of age with valid drivers license and satisfactory driving record.

Able to accept and discuss cultural differences and respond to culturally based cues

LANGUAGE ABILITY

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

COGNITIVE DEMANDS

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

COMPUTER SKILLS

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have industry relevant software, other web-based software programs, and Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word and Excel.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk and hear. Some physical requirements in working with childreninclude the ability to physically hold youth utilizing Emergency Safety Physical Intervention (ESPI). The employee must have the ability to safely get down on knees and remain in position for up to 10 minutes, must have extreme flexibility to hold youth and switch positions while holding and the ability to lift, push and pull up to 40 pounds. ENVIRONMENTAL ADAPTABILITY

Residential facility environment with typical noise level, fast paced. The hours of work this position are considered to be normal work week hours with some variances. The incumbent to this position must be flexible with the work schedule and expect schedule changes as required by agency needs.
