Housekeeper-Full time  (Full Time)
Location: Olathe, KS

Work Hours:Full Time Position - Monday- Friday - 40hrs per week / full benefits.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

Provides friendly customer service to all clients and coworkers. All housekeeping employeesare required to briefly greet/ smile at each guest/ client they encounter.

Cleans client bedrooms including: wipe all walls clean to make them sanitary and free of graffiti,change and launder all bed linens, sanitize any unclean mattresses, vacuum floors and the carpet edging carpets, wipe clean all cove base, dust all furniture and dust shelving, empty trash and replace the bag. Spot clean, wet mop, and shampoo carpet as assigned. Must be willing to clean up emergency spills, vomit, urine, blood, excrement and other body fluid or hazardous substance when required.

Clean all bathrooms daily: clean / disinfect floors, toilets, counters, bathtubs / showers, all surfaces, replenish bathroom supplies, wipes all walls clean to make them sanitary and free of graffiti or other debris

Cleans assigned public spaces including: laundry rooms (clean / sanitize washing machines anddryers), empty lent vents and trash containers, launder all household linens, towels, rugs, etc daily for programs.

Clean staff lounges/ work rooms and staff bathrooms as assigned (clean and sanitize walls, countertops and cabinets, empty and clean refrigerators, sweep and mop the floors, sanitize, the restroom, re-stock all cabinets with supplies and empties trash.) Wash walls and other vertical surfaces daily or as assigned. Duties include trash removal, vacuuming, carpet cleaning and general organization of community areas such as day rooms, lobbies, hallways, offices, recreation rooms, etc.

Report all missing items in youth bedrooms or any object deemed unsafe as designated by contraband list. Report client belongings found in vacant bedrooms and follow lost and found policy.

Performs other tasks as assigned by the Director of Campus Management or designee.

Help provide a safe working environment and will provide individual with the tools needed to perform the job at the highest level

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or Equivalent.

Previous residential cleaning, housekeeping or custodial experience helpful.

LANGUAGE ABILITY

Must be able to communicate cleanliness status and other issues of rooms / areas

Assigned to your supervisor or other TLC Staff.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Must have basic math skills for mixing proper chemical solutions for cleaning.

COGNITIVE DEMANDS

Required to be able to provide self-direction for identifying and completing tasks. Must be very reliable and have dependable transportation. Must be self-motivated and take initiative to complete tasks without prompting.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations

COMPUTER SKILLS

Must understand and implement some computer functions for clocking in and out as well as reporting maintenance problems and requesting supplies

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds regularly and up to 70 pounds on occasion. Must be able to bend, reach, push, pull, lift and sustain repetitive motions for extended periods. Must be able to stand, walk, and work on feet for extended periods of time. Must be able to work with cleaning products. The physical effort in this position should be considered medium to heavy in nature and the employee must be able to exhibit a high degree of manual dexterity, stooping, and bending.

ENVIRONMENTAL ADAPTABILITY

Employee must maintain a clean, neat, appearance. Must wear appropriate attire as designated by TLC. Employee must wear name tag. Safety equipment clothing will be provided by TLC for certain tasks and must be worn when needed. The Director of Campus Management may establish additional dress code requirements that pertain to the position.
