Substance Abuse Counselor - LAC  (Full Time)
Location: Olathe, KS

KidsTLC is hiring a full-time Substance Abuse Counselor - LAC that will provide life-changing, high quality treatment for emotionally and behaviorally challenged children in our community. We focus on evidence-based therapies and trauma-informed care, with a strong emphasis on family wellness and preserving the family unit.

Position Summary: Lead therapist providing inpatient substance abuse counseling and treatment for children, ages 6 to 18 years at KidsTLCs Residential Psychiatric Treatment Facility Work with children and their families who have emotional and behavioral challenges Collaborate with other members of the clinical team as well as residential staff to provide the highest quality of care to youth with a focus on substance abuse issues

Experience:

• Experience with adolescent juvenile offenders and children with severe emotional disturbances along with knowledge of residential treatment and cognitive/behavioral approaches.
• Minimum of one year experience providing substance abuse treatment Excellent writing and computer skills are preferred.
• Valid drivers license and satisfactory driving record.
• Able to complete Safe Crisis Management (SCM) training.

Required License and Certification:

• This position requires a Masters degree in Social Work, Counseling or Psychology.
• Licensure in Kansas (LPC, LCPC, LMFT, LCMFT)
• Licensed as an Addiction Counselor or Clinical Addiction Counselor or in the process of obtaining the certification
