The Accounts Receivable Specialist at KidsTLC, located in Olathe, KS is responsible for collecting, posting, and managing medical account payments. Responsible for submitting claims/appeals and following up with insurance companies. Will work to ensure confidentiality in all instances while maintaining a pleasant and professional appearance and conduct.
Critical Functions of Position:
Prepare and submit clean claims to insurance companies (electronically or paper submissions).
Verify benefits and maintain authorization requirements.
Follow up on denied claims by researching denials and necessary action(s); identify billing/payment trends.
Accurately interpret Explanations of Benefits and Remittance Advices; process payments from insurance companies and clients.
Prepare, review and send client statements.
Collect client payments by establishing payment arrangements as necessary; monitor payments; follow up with clients when payment lapses occur.
Follow and report status of delinquent accounts; review accounts for possible assignment and make recommendations to the Director CBO.
Identify and resolve billing complaints. Must have excellent interpersonal, oral and record keeping skills in a high volume AR office.
Diligent and able to work independently as a problem solver.
Able to learn AR software quickly.
Position Requirements:
Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. College Degree Preferred.
Experience:
1-2 years medical billing experience required.
Previous experience with Kansas Medicaid billing a plus.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Must be at least 21 years of age with a valid drivers’ license and have a satisfactory driving record.
