RN - Per Diem (On-Call)

Per Diem. Must have current licensure by the State of New York as a Registered Nurse. Experience in long-term care setting preferred, successful candidate will also possess good observation, documentation and communication skills as well as a strong desire to work with elderly residents in a team centered environment. Successful candidate will also display leadership skills. Works as a staff nurse as needed to carry out MD orders for medications and treatments. Notes condition changes in residents and reports to Nurse Manager and MD as appropriate. Serves as charge nurse, directs CNA and LPN staff to ensure smooth functioning of the skilled nursing unit. Assists staff with care needs of residents including bathing, dressing, toileting and transferring. Works with interdisciplinary staff to ensure that residents are functioning at their optimal level of independence. Applications accepted until position is filled.
