Behavioral Intervention Specialist

The Arc of Orange County is looking for a Full-time Behavioral Intervention Specialist (BIS) for large non-profit human services organization serving people with developmental disabilities across Orange County, NY. This position will work in a well-respected facility in a professional and child-oriented team environment. OPWDD population.

Responsibilities Include:

Assessments (IQ, Adaptive Behavior, etc.)
Developing behavior support plans
Providing counseling to individuals served, staff and family members
Specifying interventions that will be used to address challenging behaviors that may occur
Coordinating clinical services within a team environment in collaboration with Residential, Nursing, MSC, and Family supports

Educational Requirements:

Masters Degree in Psychology, School Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, or another related approved field required
NYS License to practice Psychology preferred
Valid New York State Driver’s License
Must have experience working with people with developmental disabilities
