Location: Orange County, NY

RESIDENTIAL DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONALS

(Middletown, Port Jervis, Montgomery, Slate Hill, Warwick)

Direct Support Professionals support and advocate for people with unique abilities and challenges so that they can achieve an optimal quality of life. Direct Support Professionals work directly with the people residing in residential homes in order to maintain a safe and supportive environment that fosters growth and facilitates the development of independent skills. A Direct Support Professional’s primary role is to provide supports tailored to the needs and desires of each individual person residing within a residential home.

Positions are full-time with benefits and low-cost health insurance.

Responsibilities:

Providing individualized support to adults with developmental and physical disabilities
Assisting people served in completion of activities of daily living (ADL’s)
- Assisting with Bathing, Dressing, Eating, etc.
Maintaining a home that is clean and safe
Administering medication
Transportation with the use of agency vehicles
Planning daily activities including: cleaning, skill building, money management, grocery shopping, etc.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma/ GED required
Valid Driver’s License for a minimum of three (3) years required
Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. multiple times per day

Requirements:

Must be available for a 5 day paid mandatory orientation if hired.
