Gaiam TV Product Designer

 

 

 

 

 

DESCRIPTION

 

 

Gaiam TV is looking for a Product Designer to help establish and carry out the visual

 

 

 language across the Gaiam TV digital properties including the website, mobile apps and smart TV apps.

 

 

 

 

 

The Product Designer will be passionate about UI, typography, color, tone and other design

 

 

 principles. This person is an advocate for user centered design and strives to create a usable, enjoyable and fulfilling experience.

 

 

 

 

 

This person will work collaboratively with the Senior Product Designer and UX Designers

 

 

 to create a living breathing style guide and apply that vision across the redesigned properties.

 

 

 

 

 

In addition, the Product will work with marketing, content, and development when it comes

 

 

 to visual language, best practices, and brand presentation.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

 

 

 

 

 

• Direct and support the visual design for the Gaiam TV website and any of the mobile or TV apps developed

•  internally

• Direct and support the visual design when working with app partners

• Manage the Gaiam TV component pattern library

• Work with UX Designers to drive great interaction design and strategy

• Work with Developers to ensure flawless execution of the visual design

• Be an advocate for design best practices as influenced by the latest innovations and emerging trends

• Generate buy-in from stakeholders and developers

• Create design documentation including:

  • Visual comps

  • Graphical explorations

  • Iconography & typographic explorations

  • Component library

  • Interactive prototypes

• Generate creative out of the box ideas for the business

• Manage and be an advocate for brand and visual consistency within the Gaiam TV platform

• Collaborate with UX and Development to execute various testing methodologies including A/B testing

   

  QUALIFICATIONS

   

 

 

• 3-5 years of interactive design experience

• Expert in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Sketch and any other industry standard design tools

• Conceptual knowledge of web technologies including HTML and CSS

• Confident in designing responsive websites

• Confident in establishing a visual language for a cross platform interactive product

  Experience with motion design tools for prototyping a plus
