Clinician Co-Responder Mobile Crisis Clinician  (Per Diem)
Location: Various - Rhode Island

Community Care Alliance is looking for per-diem master’s level clinicians or RN’s / QMHP certification preferred, to work in its new program called the Co-Responder Program. The Co-Responder Program pairs law enforcement and behavioral health clinicians to intervene and respond to behavioral health-related calls for police service. These teams utilize the combined expertise of the officer and the behavioral health clinician to de-escalate situations and help link individuals with behavioral health issues to appropriate services. Additionally Co-Responders will conduct outreach and follow- up calls to individuals who have had police contact as a result of their behavioral health crisis. The Co-Responder clinician will be located at one of our local Police Departments in the Northern Rhode Island area.

Duties include mobile community crisis assessments and intervention in collaboration with local police departments and BH Link along with other mental health resources in the community; evaluation, disposition, and referral for all assessments; perform emergency certifications when necessary.

All staff must be vaccinated for COVID-19 prior to starting work, unless a certified medical exemption accommodation is granted. Proof of vaccination must be show upon hire.

This position has flexible hours with availability seven days a week. Weekday hours are in the evening/ Saturday and Sunday hours are flexible.

Must have excellent crisis intervention skills and a minimum of 1 year employment in community mental health, CSU, or an inpatient psychiatric setting. Ability to diagnose using DSM 5 criteria. Employee must have valid driver’s license.
