As a Registered Dietitian, your job duties will include but are not limited to:

• Coming up with a core meal plan for general patients, for special requests or for critical needs.
• Acting in the role of counselor and thus sustaining patient morale.
• Maintaining documentation from aides and management as a daily routine.
• Keeping track of what has or hasn’t worked for a patient, which is crucial to providing proper meals later on.
• Display analytical skills when assessing patient nutrition.
• Develop solutions for malnourished patients and patients needing specific dietary goals.

This position reports to: Director of Food and Nutrition Services. This position is hourly (non-exempt).

QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge and skills:

• Teamworking skills
• Keen interest in the impact of diet on health
• Good interpersonal skills
• Communication skills, including the ability to explain complex things simply
• An understanding of science
• Able to motivate others

Education and experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics or related field
• Completed a didactic program in dietetics accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND), formerly known as the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetic Education (CADE) required.
• One (1) year of healthcare experience preferred

Licensure, registration or certification:

• Credentialed as a Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)
• Licensed by the KS State Dietetics Licensing/Credentialing Board
