Department: Residential- Supportive Living
Position Overview: JFK manages a semi-independent residential site for nine individuals with mental illness in the Germantown section of the city. Our Supported Living Specialist support residents by:
- Providing a full range of supportive care necessary to meet the resident's clinical, social, health and economic needs
- Counseling residents on all Activities of Daily Living (ADL's) and nurturing ongoing independence to sustain ADL's
- Fostering an atmosphere that maintains the highest levels of essential life supports
- Assisting when emergency services and crisis intervention is needed
Our Supported Living Specialist should:
- Desire to embrace the philosophy and objectives of JFK Behavioral Health
- Exercise good judgement to ensure respect and fairness are the foundation of resident interactions
- Be a flexible creative problem-solver that can adapt to evolving resident needs
- Engage with peer supportive living specialist to provide consistency in resident supports and smooth shift transitions
- Be comfortable navigating the city by vehicle or public transit to escort residents
Training & Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent and post-high school experience working with adults who have diminished mental capacity -or- specialized training, certification, or study in human or social services
Schedule: Tues 12AM-8AM; Fri/Sat: 8AM-4PM (24 hours/week)
Location: Germantown neighborhood, accessible to SEPTA transit lines
