Department: Mobile Crisis Response
POSITION OVERVIEW: As a crisis specialist, you will provide behavioral health crisis intervention and prevention services to adults, adolescents and children in an age appropriate and culturally competent manner. Our Crisis Specialist:
- Perform mental health assessments & evaluations for individuals in severe psychological or emotional distress.
- Work with first responders in emergency situations involving behavioral health clients, including, psychiatric consults, on-site intervention and applications for commitments.
- Provide crisis intervention in atypical settings i.e.- schools, temporary or transient placement homes while cofacilitating with partner agencies (PSD, OSH, DHS and PCA)
- Provide family intervention in clients homes in emergency situations.
- Make recommendations on treatment planning and client disposition with the guidance of the Mental Health Emergency Services Coordinator.

- Have in-depth familiarity with the behavioral health system, and can interface with all levels & agents in the system.
Schedule: Part-time, must have evening/overnight/weekend availability.
TRAINING & EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelors degree in one of the behavioral sciences and 5 years of direct-care mental health experience.
-OR-
- Masters degree in one of the behavioral sciences and 3 years of direct-care mental health experience
- Valid state-issued drivers license
