Project Engineer  (Full Time)
Location: Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont

The Civil Project Engineer will support the Project Management Team with the planning, organizing, and managing of the assigned project. S/He will help ensure safety, project quality, schedule, cost control, and customer satisfaction objectives are met.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with review of project proposals or plans to determine time-frame and resources required
  • Assist with establishing safety, quality, schedule, cost and owner relationship goals
  • Ensure jobs have safe working conditions and that safe work practices are in place
  • Maintain positive relationships within the owner, engineering, and subcontractor firms
  • Assist with development of baseline project schedules
  • Involvement with pre-construction activities such as estimating, purchase orders, subcontracts, schedules, and project pre-planning
  • Assist in preparing bid estimates as required
  • Attend and participate in coordination meetings, update schedule and address project issues
  • Assist with monitoring and reporting project cost and schedule performance
  • Involvement in monitoring and ensuring quality control program is in place and being implemented
  • Understand and ensure that Reed & Reeds company policies are adhered to at all times
  • Assist documenting best practices to share with other projects
  • Perform document controls such as RFIs, submittals, change requests, billings, project meeting minutes, and closeout documentation

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Requires a four-year degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Construction Management degree or equivalent combination of technical training and/or experience in heavy civil or renewable energy construction
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of project engineering experience in the heavy civil or renewable energy markets
  • Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, methods): craft agreements, jurisdiction, negotiations, engineering, estimating, schedules, and safety required
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills are essential
