TLC was founded in 1969 by three families who wanted to improve the local options for children with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Over the last five decades, TLC has grown in response to the needs of the community, and today serves more than 600 individuals and families across the Triangle and surrounding areas through a diverse range of on-site and community-based programs, including educational services, respite care, early childhood intervention, autism therapies, community living support, and residential living. Cook (Full Time)
Minimum Education/ Experience:
High school graduate or GED certificate. One year of experience in food preparation in a large commercial or institutional kitchen
Hours/Days of Work:
8:30am – 5:00pm (Monday and Friday)
5:00am – 1:30pm (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday)
Days of the week vary, must work every other weekend
Brief Description of Work Performed:
Assist in preparation and delivery of meals for residential and day services, assist in maintaining a clean and orderly work area as defined by Health and Sanitation laws. Prepare meals and snacks with insufficient quality per menu and recipe cards. Assist Food Services Supervisor in meeting all regulatory requirements. Clean kitchen equipment, dishes, and utensils. Stock and maintain appropriate inventory levels. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. This is a full-time, 40 hour work week position. Perform related duties as required.
