ABA Academy Teacher (Part Time) Department: ABA-Applied Behavior Analysis
Minimum Education/ Experience: Associates Degree or Bachelors’ Preferred. Preferred coursework in Early Childhood Education or Child Development. TLC will provide training for this position. All applicants must be at least 18 years of age with a valid North Carolina driver’s license.
Brief Description of Work Performed: Conduct initial STAR (Strategies for Teaching based on Autism Research) assessment. Work collaboratively with ABA staff in carrying out classroom instruction based on the STAR curriculum in one on one or groups. Punctual, reliable, and maintains a safe and organized classroom environment for children. Collaborate with ABA staff for implementation of skill acquisition and behavior reduction programs utilizing ABA strategies as designed by the BCBA. Ensure the development of positive relationships with children by promoting self-esteem and self-discipline. Work with the assigned student to document student progress in a timely manner. Collaborate and work as a team with ABA staff and/therapists to facilitate individual learning and growth in the classroom. Participates in clinical supervision with case supervisor on a monthly (at a minimum) basis. Be a positive role model for all staff and children. Organizes and creates instructional materials for the classroom and individual student needs. Always utilize developmentally appropriate practices and best practices. Assist children with routine care activities (e.g., diapering/restroom use, feeding, dressing). Establish a professional level of rapport with each family in order to provide quality care and promote family engagement.
Hours/Days of Work: Part-Time, hourly 20 hours per week; Monday through Friday 8:45-12:45
Pay Rate: $15.00 per hour; benefits include PTO
