Back to Category List Available Positions > Job Description Intern (Facilities Engineering) (Full Time) POSITION SUMMARY: Assist the Facilities management team with developing and completing current projects throughout the campus. Evaluate, verify and update building/facility drawings. Interface with cross functional teams in the development of project goals, scopes, and action plans.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
· Assist with Facilities continuous process improvement projects, preventive maintenance, and Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) tasks and initiatives. · Provide detailed drawings for construction or modifications of facilities. · Assist in troubleshooting, assessing, and solving facilities engineering methods and process problems · Prepare, verify, and update work instructions and related documentation · Participate in team meetings to gain technical knowledge and functional collaboration techniques · Provide technical and administrative support as required with department tasks and initiatives. · Occasionally coordinates with inter-departmental partners to assure smooth flow of information. · Other projects and duties as assigned.

Education and Experience · Currently enrolled full-time and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited college/university. Rising Sophomore standing in related engineering degree major preferred. · Strong academic record in good standing with a preferred cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher · Conscientious self-starter with good organizational skills, project management skills and attention to detail · Ability to balance multiple projects and priorities, must be able to multi-task · Strong interpersonal communication and ability to collaborate with teams; must effectively operate independently, across functional lines, and with internal customers · Demonstrated personal initiative, self-motivation, flexibility, adaptability and willingness to learn · Ability to read and follow blueprints and rough drawings · Effective oral communication and interpersonal skills · Ability to complete projects unsupervised and unassisted · Excellent problem-solving skills · Attention to detail and ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously · Working proficiency in Computer Aided Drafting (AutoCAD experience a plus) · Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs, specifically Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Certificates, Licenses, Registrations · None required although related education, trade, or regulatory certifications preferred.
