Sr. NC Programmer  (Full Time)
Department: All Openings, Manufacturing - Experienced

POSITION SUMMARY:

Performs a variety of duties and programming tasks using Unigraphics computer program for fabrication of complex aircraft parts and tools. Responsible for programming Milling machines, Lathes and Mill Trun Machines.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

·         Program C.N.C. machines.

·         Maintain and update all N.C. program files.

·         Supply machine operators with set-up and run information as required.

·         Design, draw, and coordinate large tooling fixtures and tooling masters for use on machines.

·         Create flat patterns in order to machine parts.

·         Improve on old N.C. computer programs to increase productivity and ease of machining.

·         Design and program form dies.

·         Export and import computer files to other companies for use in building Company fixtures and parts.

·         Write post processors for our existing and new machines.

·         Research new tooling for the N.C. machines (inserts, toolholders, etc.)

·         Interface with various departments and advise with technical information and guidance.

·         Perform housekeeping chores as department requirements dictate.

·         Attend training as required.

·         Perform other related duties as required.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This job requires no supervisory responsibilities.  May be required to train and/or assist other employees.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

               

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Associate degree in a computer programming or related field, at least five years experience with three years N.C. machining experience and two years experience Unigraphics required or equivalent education and experience.

Thorough understanding of machining, sheet metal flat pattern layout, and computer programming is required to perform the duties in this position. 

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

The employee must possess the ability to communicate effectively with all internal and external customers in both written and oral form.
