Manufacturing Planning Coordinator  (Full Time)

Manufacturing Planning Coordinator

POSITION SUMMARY:

Proactively support and monitor Production Assembly areas to ensure sufficient inventory on hand to complete scheduled production requirements. Interface with Production Control, Planning, Engineering, Methods, and Quality Assurance departments to resolve and prevent work stoppages. Expedite all short parts and materials to allow orders to be released to production.  Provide reports and support, as required, to Manufacturing.  Work with minimal direction from Supervisor.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

·         Coordinate with Production Control on kit deliveries to assembly work stations

·         Manage prioritization of supply orders for critical shortages

·         Investigate and resolve shortage issues to ensure optimal performance in assembly lines

·         Review and recommend Order Policy changes to maintain optimal on hand inventory levels such as Safety Stock, Order Quantity Increments, Min/Max Order Quantities, etc.

·         Maintain a Line of Balance on critical parts for manufacturing, communicate to appropriate Supervisors and Managers

·         Complete Scrap Transactions as required when retrieving additional parts

·         Issue shortages in Material to Issue to correct inventory levels as required

·         Request supply orders for inventory below Safety Stock quantity

·         Scrutinize every facet of processes and report improper operation, faulty equipment, defective materials, and unusual conditions to Supervisor

·         Perform housekeeping tasks as department requirements dictate

·         Other duties as assigned by Supervisor

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This job has no Supervisory responsibilities.  May be required to train and assist other employees.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one to three years related material requirements planning experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.  Basic computer skills required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: 

Ability to communicate effectively with all internal and external customers in both written and oral form.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: 

Ability to perform the duties of the job applying basic mathematics such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
