Cost Accountant I  (Full Time)
Department: All Openings, Finance & Accounting

Person with four-year degree in accounting and finance, with preference of having experience in manufacturing environment, to work in cost accounting area of finance. Role is focused on working with focused groups seeking to improve manufacturing processes and reducing cost of manufacturing in Piper's facility.

Familiarity with six sigma and kaizen work a plus.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Assist in month-end closing activities of inventory and COGS, prepare reconciliation schedules for inventory and related accounts, and prepare adjustments as instructed. Utilize LN ERP System and Microsoft Excel to prepare schedules as needed related to labor reporting, variance analysis, warranty costs, tooling projects forecasts and other areas as needed.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Prepare and input month-end entries related to inventory and COGS

Assist with processing of labor reporting

Provide year-end support with cycle count inventory and audit

Track and report line station hours data on weekly basis

Track and report overtime hours data on weekly and YTD basis

Account for Piper Pilot Shop revenue and costs

Assist with others in department in performing various cost accounting duties

Perform other related duties as required

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Cost Accountant I position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Candidate should have a Bachelor degree in accounting from an institution with USDE accreditation. One or more years of experience in accounting related job.
