Continuous Improvement Manager  (Full Time)
Department: All Openings, Administration

POSITION SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Sr. Manager Manufacturing Engineering, the Continuous Improvement Manager is responsible for the development, implementation and sustainment of the Piper Aircraft Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing system.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Develop and lead the organizations Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing efforts.

Develop the CI/Lean system for Piper Aircraft

Identify or develop Lean Training and World Class Manufacturing content.

Facilitate training curriculum for all Lean Tools, (5S, Kaizen, Root Cause Analysis) and monitor effectiveness.

Facilitate Kaizen events and train others on how to facilitate them.

Analyze thruput issues, identify bottlenecks. Develop and execute action plans to eliminate them.

Measure Lean implementations results.

Train and apply problem solving tools to all levels of the organization.

Train and coach plant staff in lean tools and implementation, including cascade training.

Design and manage the Lean Manufacturing implementation program.

Develop Lean tools for best use in current environment.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This job has minimal supervisory responsibilities. May be required to train and assist other employees and facilitate cross-functional team based project planning.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Type and extent of experience: BS Degree preferred with plus minimum of five years' experience directly related to the job requirements within manufacturing. Formal training in Lean manufacturing processes is required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

The employee must possess the ability to communicate effectively with all internal and external customers in both written and oral form. Must be a team player, self-starter and ability to excel in cross-functional team environment.
