Estimator-Madison Heights (Full Time)

Reports To: Chief Estimator/VP Estimating
FLSA Status: Exempt
Summary: Analyzes blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for products, projects, or services by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
a. Reviews data to determine material and labor requirements and prepares itemized lists
b. Computes cost factors and prepares estimates used for management purposes
c. Conducts special studies to develop and establish standard hour and related cost data of effect cost reductions
d. Consults with clients, vendors, or other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues
e. Interfaces with other individuals in the organization to obtain support and commitment to the cost estimates
f. Organizes and manages a centralized estimating database and a formal process to support cost estimating to ensure historical data is utilized
g. Analyzes completed projects to compare estimated costs to actual costs
h. Provides improvement suggestions to reduce future discrepencies between estimated and actual costs
i. Identifies cost trends to assist management in cost reduction and process improvement efforts

Education and/or Experience: Fifth year college or university program certificate; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Knowledge: Advanced knowledge of AISC operations and safety protocols. Able to read and follow blue prints, specifications, load charts, etc. Able to read and interpret contracts, terms/conditions, purchase orders, etc.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform advanced math skills including geometric and algebraic formulas; engineering computations; extrapolation and logical functions.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to deal with a variety of variables. Able to interpret various instructions.
Language Ability:Advanced reading skills. Ability to communicate in complex spoken and written manner.
Computer Skills: Basic computer skills,
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Engineering or engineering technology degree preferred. Valid Driver's License. Must meet CSE, Inc. MVR criteria.
Other Skills and Abilities:This position requires the use of emotional control and the ability to accept responsibility and sustain attention. Able to work well independently. Attention to detail. Strong management and communication skills. Able to interpret blue prints; CPM schedules; draft proposals, etc.
Other Qualifications: Must be able to travel.
